Music Feeds my Soul – Boys Like a Little More Booty to hold at Night

I’m really loving this song right now. Embrace your size, shape and beauty no matter what you look like. What a fantastic anthem for any girl in today’s society.

Music Feeds My Soul – Long Weekend Jam

The song ironic came on in the car while driving to a friends trailer today. Kiddos and I were traveling down a back road so I instantly blasted it. I’m singing along and loving it. Completely in the zone, happy to hear kiddo in the back seat trying to sing along  Total flash back to my youth.

I sometimes swear my kiddos think I’m crazy but hey, it’s okay! We have fun listening to and singing along with all kinds of music.

Which song(s) take you back to your childhood? Comment and let me know!

Music Feeds My Soul – Do You Like You?

I just heard this song today and I absolutely love it! Colbie Caillat is such a beautiful person inside and out. I think this song sends a great message to women everywhere.

I myself am victim of feeling the need to conform to societies image of the “perfect” woman in so many ways. It’s sad that our daughters, sisters, friends and so on are growing up thinking that they have to look a certain way to be beautiful. There is so much more to life than physical appearance. I really love this video and the message that it delivers.

I hope that my daughter grows up knowing that she is beautiful inside and out whether she is fresh-faced or made up. It’s really what is on the inside that matters most.

Music Feeds My Soul – The Weekend Jam

I am in LOVE with Sia! She is just so talented and unique, verging on strange. Anyhow this song has been pumping through my speakers all weekend. The kiddos and I just love singing along to it (even though we can’t hit a single note).

Another song that I LOVE singing along to right now is the new track by Lady A. Honestly I’m not a huge fan of Lady Antebellum but I can listen to this song on repeat for hours! It’s just so fun and relevant to my life as a single lady. Enjoy!

Music Makes My World Go Round – Country Edition

Through out my life there have been many songs that have related to a certain time or situation that I have been going through. I could write about a million and one of them but I’m only choosing three for today. Three country songs that pull on my heart-strings. Enjoy!

Thompson Square – Are You Going to Kiss Me or Not

When I think about the kind of love that I want, I think of this song! It’s sweet and sincere. The couple that sing it are actually a real life couple. How cute, right? It makes me feel all mushy inside. I want raw emotion and straight to the point! The question remains though, are there any of these sincerely sweet guys left that are not married? One can only hope, I mean I’m not getting any younger. If not, this chick is pretty independent and self-sufficient. I honestly just adore Are You Going to Kiss me or Not, it makes my sunshine and rainbows side come out. Plus the singer has wicked hair, I love the black and blonde!

Tim McGraw – My Little Girl

Every time I hear this song it makes me think of how a father is supposed to be. How I would have wanted my father to have felt about me. I never had the chance to get to know my father but I do know my little girl. This song has been our song since she was in the womb. I fell in love with it, how it captured the love that a parent has for their little girl. Every word, every emotion in this song relates to my relationship with my daughter. She’s beautiful from the inside out and I couldn’t have asked for a better daughter. I feel protective of my little girl, even though I know she can hold her own. I know one day she will be grown but she will be fine because I know she is a brave, smart and creative girl. I’m the mother and the father of my children, it’s okay for me to steal a father/daughter song.

Little Big Town – Pontoon

Every time I hear this song I am transported back to the summer of 2012, hanging out with Mr Drunky Monkey. It makes my heart ache a little bit. He LOVED this song and played it loud and proud every time it came on. The cutest part is that he had my daughter hooked on the song as well. To this day she still asks me to put on, on the pontoon. I miss watching my kiddos and Mr Drunky Monkey singing and playing together. However, I still know that things worked out for the best. I sometimes think he is the one that got away. However, my children deserve much better. I deserve much better!!

25 Songs 25 Days: Day 25 – This is the end my Friends

I can’t believe it has been 25 days already! Time flies when you’re having fun and this challenge has been great. I’m a lover of music, so I have enjoyed writing these posts. I feel like there are 101 more songs that I should have included but I went with the first song that came to mind for each day.

To end the challenge, I share with you one of the songs that I could listen to on repeat all day. I remember the very first time I heard Who Will Save Your Soul by Jewel. I was in the car on the way to the beach with my aunt. I was really young, I just remember thinking wowza this woman has an amazing voice! I have LOVED this song since that day.

I hope you enjoy, thanks for following along with me!!

25 Songs 25 Days: Day 24 – Dance

The last song my best girl and I danced to was Ice Ice Baby. It was during a crazy ice storm that resulted in a two day blackout in our area, two weeks in other areas. That was just before Christmas 2013. We had our cell phones in hand playing music for our kiddos. It was a blast, the kiddos were dancing along with us having a great time. It’s been a while since, gosh I need to get out dancing with girlfriends more!!

Since I have included this song in my music challenge previously I am choosing to post a different song. My daughter and I have a little crush on Ed Sheeran, we danced around the kitchen to “Sing” this morning. What a catchy little tune!
